Planning notes

LaTeX is an Open Source Software. It is mostly used to generate pdf-documents, but also other output formats are possible. It is used in science a lot because of its possibility to typeset complicated math formulas, tables, graphics etc. You can also create nice beamer presentations with LaTeX.

LaTeX has one of the oldest communitys in the web-world and there are user groups nearly everywhere.

In the netherlands there is Nederlandstalige TeX Gebruikersgroep, short NTG, see . In Heidelberg in Germany you can find the office of DANTE e.V., see . And then there is the USA-based TeX User Group TUG, see . You also might have a look at .

The main organizer of the LaTeX village is (at the moment) Doris Behrendt, the treasurer of DANTE.

Feel free to join our village! If you want to give a workshop or a talk or just help out hanging out and answering questions to visitors or building up tents and beamers and stuff, you can contact me at For the organization of the village we use slack. Contact Doris, if you want to join.

We have still 1 >>free<< ticket for somebody who can help out building up on wednesday/thursday and tearing down on the day after the camp!
