Me and Miss July

As people these days are much too much divorced (and I use this word on purpose) from their food, we will demonstrate what it takes to eat meat.

Miss July, our fluffy rabbit, will be killed, skinned, disemboweled and prepared for the kitchen.

This demo is for children of all ages, but we'd like under-12s to be accompanied by a parent or other adult who is emotionally close to them so that things can be explained. What things? Basically, the fact that eating meat includes killing an animal somewhere in the process.

Nobody I know likes to do this, and I certainly don't enjoy it myself. Also, it takes a certain amount of courage, especially if you have grown the animal yourself. Yet somebody needs to do it if meat is part of your diet. We will demonstrate how to kill humanely, without suffering, as this is very bad for the meat and for your own self-esteem. There will be no blood, but there will be bowels.
