- Session:Public Money Public Code + (The FSFE's latest campaign "Public money, … The FSFE's latest campaign "Public money, public code" (PMPC) evolves around the demand targeted at public administrations to release software which is paid with taxpayers' money as Free Software. We believe that publicly funded software should be considered as public good and be freely available for everybody to reuse, study, share and improve. All public bodies should treat public funds carefully, ensuring the best possible value-for-money is obtained whenever public money is being spent or invested. Therefore, Free Software and re-use should be the norm, not only for the public sector to reduce the costly expenses for the acquisition of proprietary licences, but also for it to regain the control over its IT infrastructure. Free Software should be seen as public good, with value-added for every democratic society and its citizens, for co-operation among public authorities between regions and states. In my talk, I will give an overview and the status of our PMPC campaign, together with concrete action points on how everybody can engage in the campaign and support our goal.gage in the campaign and support our goal.)
